The Five Fs Men's Group

Discussing family, friendship, fitness, finance, and faith.

A group putting indulgences and hobbies aside to discuss things which matter most.  With courage, we share ourselves, we listen, and we work to serve and guide one another.

"As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another."  Proverbs 27:17

Shout out to Rabbi Daniel Lapin and his wife Susan Lapin for their book The Holistic You which so brilliantly explained the five Fs as a holistic approach to life.  Here is our interpretation of them below...
Family
Matters of relationships, marriage, dating, parenting, and leading a household.
Friendship
Surrounding yourself with good honorable people.  Holding one another to the highest standard.  Having the courage to help serve others.
Fitness
Discussions of health goals including nutrition, supplementation, exercise, mental health, and sunshine.
Finance
Steadfastness on the subject of money, career, business, investing, volunteering, and charity.
Faith
Everything beyond the physical world such as spirituality, attitude, self-reflection, and everything else inside this brain of ours, of which the entirety of the world must first filter through.

Where and where do we meet?
One Friday evening per month for now.  We agree on an establishment a few weeks before the event typically between Geneva and Elmhurst.
Who is allowed to join?
We welcome all walks of life. Fortunately, we have the fortitude and wherewithal to put political differences aside in favor of topics of which of we have direct control over.  Joke's on us if a politician joins the group though.
Are women allowed?
This is a men's group but anyone with passion to improve their lives and those of their community are welcome to join us.
Why this men's group?
We've noticed most men's groups are affiliated with churches. Most Online Meetup Groups are hobby focused.  We ask:  Why should we compartmentalize our interests?  Surely, a more holistic approach could be taken.  We created this group to listen to and encourage one another in the most important aspects of life.
What are the requirements to join?
All we ask of members is that everything we do be rooted in love, honor, and courage.  We ask that whatever entity we believe in guide us to be a blessing onto others.  We've found that those who put others first and work courageously to serve will ironically find themselves in positions of leadership.
